Madeline Festival
Did you know that Ludwig Bemelmans, the author of the Madeline Book Series, was a private in the US army in WWI, stationed at Fort Ontario in 1917? Then, he wrote a book about it called “My War with the United States?” The first few chapters are all about Oswego and the Fort.
